Join us on Zoom and pick up a copy of A Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man's Love Affair with Nature by J. Drew Lanham. We will be joined by Abra Lee to discuss her experiences as a African American woman Horticulture and a historical view of conservation in our area. Dr. Lanhams book is a wonderfully lyrical read and will offer a wonderful foundation for Abra Lee's talk.

Abra Lee @conquerthesoil is a public horticulture leader in the making. From rural roots in Georgia, to a passion for the best contemporary Rhythm & Blues and hip hop music, fashion style, and the carefully curated details of hairstyles and nails - Abra sees the interweaving of horticulture and our everyday lives as a path to increasing horticulture’s relevance and importance for everyone.
