holes are a staple of science fiction movies and TV shows. And they
occasionally even make headline news. But what exactly are black holes? How
do they work? How
do they form? How do astronomers know they exist? What would happen if
you fell into a black hole? And are we in any danger of a black hole
roaming through our solar system and gobbling up Earth?
Derry Township resident Robert Naeye, a former NASA employee and editor
in chief of Sky & Telescope magazine, as he explains in clear
language the fascinating
science of black holes.
